So It Goes...Revisited

Well, it's been a long hiatus for the So it Goes blog. Other than the short post in 2021, I think it's been since pre-COVID that I actually posted regularly. I think I just needed to step away for a time and take a break from the commitment. It was beginning to get a little robotic and obligatory and so I just put it on the back burner for a while.

Much has happened since then I think. I've published a couple of books since then, Cretin Boy and At the Lake. Both give me a great sense of accomplishment, despite the fact that they are not NYT best sellers. I can't imagine not writing, and having four memoirs and a handful of poetry books is about nine books more than I ever imagined, so that's something.

I have missed some of the nice feedback that my blog used to give, I'll tell you that for sure. Looking back there were some that even said my blog was what led them to checking out my books, which is pretty cool. I think I will stick with keeping it to a weekly post, as twice a week got tedious, so I am approaching this rendition of the blog with a Hump-Day post on Wednesdays as a way to propel me through the week.

I will keep the topics varied, I think, as that seemed to work pretty good the first time around. It allows me to write with whimsy and pick and choose what I want to talk about. It may vary from sports, to home repair, to fishing escapades, to work stuff, to I don't know what. I'm going to leave it open for the muse to take over.

So at the moment, the only thing that comes to mind is the pending football playoffs. I was hoping for a Packer victory on Sunday night so all three of "my teams" (Packers, Vikings & Bills) would be in the playoffs. Well, the Packers failed about as badly as I feared but considering I'd written off a playoff hope at about week 9, they came farther than I thought. My goal is a Vikings/Bills Super Bowl so one of them can feel what it likes to actually win one. I have doubts about both, but one can dream. In any case, I'll be tuned in to watch.

It feels good to be back in the blogosphere. I hope you agree. Spread the word and I will see you next week.

Blogging off...
